Samsung BD P1600 - Samsung Blu-ray Players
This model is now available for under a hundred pounds, but don't let that put you off. We don't rely on testing ourselves, as this can be a 'one off' in terms of certainty, so we've scoured the reviews and this one is doing really well despite the low price tag. VFM, or Value For Money is the term that is key here, as not only is the sound and image technology there, but it is also Wifi ready.
BD Live is supported as well so you can access the internet via you player for downloads, another feature that puts the cut price model in the mid functionality range. It has 2 USB ports as well to make life a bit more fun, and having said that while it does have everything that you need, in a sense it is a no frills version, so not for gadget freaks, just those who want to watch a movie in good quality in picture and sound.
256 MB Memory, and HDMI means that reliability in transfer and speed are covered, so you shouldn't experience any stalling, and overall this has got to be a good buy.

Samsung BD P1600 - Review
Took it out of the box, plugged it in an away we went. No need for any software update. Paired with a Samsung TV and cinema system works a treat. Slight problem with sound sync initially but otherwise great. I didn't want bells and whistles so this was perfect.
Upscaling of standard DVDs is brilliant, almost like watching for the first time.
Down sides: Just one, all Samsung product are high gloss black which is great but wife complains it shows the dust! I watch the movie, she sees dust.
