Samsung BD C6500 - Samsung Blu-ray Players
At the price, this is a respectable mid range Blu-ray player that has the basics covered to a high standard. Picture quality is marvelous, as is the sound. The defenition is smooth, not one of those models where the term crispness actually translates as annoying starkness. This is pixel detail to a very high standard. It has Dolby True HD, so the sound doesn't let it down either.
It does have wireless connectivity, so if you have that capacity then it's a shame not to use it, but then again we are fans of the good old fashioned cable and the LAN. Whatever - the important thing is the choice is there. The system is Internet ready, so although this model doesn't record, it doesn't need to, just watch you favourite programs on BBCi Player or one of the other streamers - how long do you wa to keep the program for anyway. The important thing is that when you do watch it, you get the best performance, and for the price, the C6500 won't let you down. This is a full 1080P high definition Blu-ray player that delivers a good viewing experience, just make sure the rest of your gear is up to scratch so that you can hear it properly.

Samsung BD C6500 - Review
Far better picture quality than the PS3, just turn up the sharpness setting a little and all the little details pop out at you that I never saw on the PS3. It literally felt like I had bought a new TV there was so much more detail, real detail not just over-sharpening. G-Force was so underwhelming on the PS3 after watching it in 3D at the cinema, but it felt almost 3D again on the Samsung.
Plays DivX, XVID and many MKV files (does have problems if they have more than one audio track, just needs remuxing on the PC to remove the extra tracks) from USB, DVD or over the network (seems to have more problems with formats playing over network so not really used it much). Supposedly can play WMV9 but I haven't found any that work, but I rarely use them anyway and can always use the Xbox for those. Mr. A. Atkin (Sheffield, UK)
