Panasonic DMR BS850 - Panasonic Blu-ray Players
With a built in Hard Disk Capacity of 500GB, this is the slightly superior version of the BS750, and it has a massive technical features list (see the link below). Basically it does everything, and the only problem with this model is that it is waiting for the rest of the digital media world to catch-up.
With the freesat+ Twin Tuner you can record two programs simultaneously while watching a Blu-ray or DVD film (remember the early days of not being able to record and watch at the same time on a VCR?). As you would expect there is the full set of recording facilities - timer, program ID and more so once you've grasped the basics, you never need to miss anything again.
But, it's not just about TV and recording, despite moving on in this area, Panasonic have not forgotten that people still want to watch their Blu-ray movies in superb quality, and this model is no exception, and for one of a first generation of Blu-ray recorders Panasonic have done an awesome job, and they are likely to be followed very soon by Sony and the others, but for the moment, hats off for this one Panasonic.

This review is from: Panasonic DMR-BS850EBK Twin Freesat Tuners 500GB HDD Blu-ray Recorder (Electronics) We live an area where the freeview service is hit & miss, so decided to go for freesat. We were really pleased with that but the other DVD/ video recorder only had one tuner so could only record what you were viewing, so, on seeing this advertised thought it would be the answer for us, having two Freesat tuners. What a great product, huge hard drive and the ability to record onto Bluray disks. Also, we have lost none of the quality of the the t.v picture that can some times happen when relayed through a video. The only gripe I have had is that the instructions were a little confusing and vague, the only way to master it is to use it and find out what it does. Overall very impressed with this product and would reccomend it to any one who has freesat. By the way, we get our picture via a sky plus dish so anyone with one of these can change over to freesat and view a good range of channels free! Mr. Norman Sparkes (Isle of Wight, UK)
